Dehnert, Vivian “Vi” Lorraine (26 October 1920 – 8 March 2018)
Vivian “Vi” Lorraine (Hagen) Dehnert, age 97, of Neillsville, surrounded by her
loving family, was called to her Heavenly home on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at
5:30 pm, while residing at Marquardt Health Center in Watertown.
Vi was the first child born to Rose Belle (Lindsey) and Oscar Evans Hagen on
Tuesday October 26, 1920, at 12:30 pm, when they were living in Oakland Center,
Wisconsin. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1939.
She married Fred “Fritz” Dehnert of the Town of Milford, on August 19, 1939 at
the Moravian Church in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Later, they moved to Milwaukee
where their 3 daughters were born. They left Milwaukee in 1942 and moved to
Janesville, where Vi worked as a Customer Service Rep for the Electric Company.
Later they moved to Kewaskum where she was a Customer Service Rep for the West
Bend Company and Regal Ware, Inc. She was also, at one time, a Legal Secretary
for a Lawyer in Hartford.
In 1970 they retired and moved to Neillsville where they purchased and operated
“Christie’s Bar” in Christie, until 1986.
Vi was a volunteer for “Lights Club” of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church
in Neillsville. She was an avid crocheter of beautiful doilies which she donated
to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield as a member of the Knitting and
Crocheting Club. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Beverly Carber of Sterling, IL, and Sandra
(Dennis) Olson of Beloit, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 14
great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She
will be greatly missed by her Goddaughter, Michele “Mitch” Behlke of Watertown
and her Special Nieces, Joyce Jeffers of Waukesha and Karen Radtke of Watertown.
Preceding her in death were her husband Fritz (4/23/2005), daughter Judy Rae
Burdick and her twin children, 1 brother (Gordon Hagen of Fort Atkinson), twin
sisters (Gladys Van Lare and Dorothy Staude of Watertown), and her parents.
A family memorial is being planned for a future date. Vivian’s ashes will be
returned to Neillsville to be reunited with her husband, Fritz.
Special thank you to the staff for their loving care given to Vivian at
Neillsville Care and Rehab Center, Neillsville Retirement Community, and
Marquardt Health Center in Watertown.
