Denzine, Alma Mata Bertha (Hoernke) (23 APR 1922 - 8 MAR 2018)
Alma Mata Bertha Denzine, age 95, of Milan, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018,
at Marshfield Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at
Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan. Rev. Jeff Lambrecht will preside. Family and
friends are welcome from 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the
church.
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the
arrangements.
Alma was born on April 23, 1922, the daughter of William and Louise (Punke)
Hoernke in the Town of Frankfort. Alma was a 1941 graduate of Colby High School.
On June 6, 1942, Alma was united in marriage to Delbert Denzine at St. John’s
Lutheran Church in the Town of Frankfort. In a few months they would have
celebrated 76 years of marriage.
Together, they farmed in the Town of Johnson for 37 years, where they raised
three children: Patricia, Lynette and Bradley. After farming they moved to Milan
in 1981 and resided there until March of 2017. During the early years of
retirement Alma and Delbert enjoyed traveling, gardening and fishing. Together
they enjoyed playing cards with friends and spending time with very close
friends, Arlette and Clarence Molthen. Alma was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran
Church in Milan where she was also a member of the Ladies Aid for many years.
Alma is survived by her husband, Delbert; three children, Patricia (Karl)
Fischer of Lake Havasu, Ark., Lynette Calmes of Wisconsin Rapids and Bradley
(Sandra) Denzine of Silver Lake; seven grandchildren, Donna Hendzel, Susan
Fischer, Scott Fischer, Larry Calmes, Debra (Bruce) Hobart, Nicholas Denzine and
Erik (Jessica) Denzine; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Erma Hackle; along
with many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jesse Denzine; a brother,
Harold Hoernke; and a sister, Hertha Werner.
