Witt, Thomas J. (12 SEP 1935 - 28 FEB 2018)
Thomas J. Witt (a/k/a: Witkowski) found peace on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Tom
was born in Chicago, Ill. on May 20, 1951 to Joseph and Lorraine (Hennessey)
Witkowski.
Following the death of his father, Joseph, in 1970, Tom's mother, Lorraine
married Steve Vanis in 1973. After his mother and Steve moved from Chicago to
Holcombe in 1976, Tom made the journey to the Wisconsin northwoods and settled
into an original one-room log cabin close to his mom and step-dad on the
Chippewa River.
Tom enjoyed the life up north and the countless friends and folks he came to
know. For many years he worked as an electrician throughout northern Wisconsin.
He loved fishing, strumming his guitar playing his favorite Beatles songs and
cheering for the Bears and White Sox, all the while keeping his unique sense of
humor and smirky grin.
Tom is survived by his nephew, Jason and niece, Carla.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary.
At a future date to be determined and at Tom's request, his ashes will be
scattered in a special place in the woods near his Holcombe home.
