Marian “Girlie” E. Linster, 96, of Neillsville, WI died on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Grace Lutheran Prairie Point Rehab in Eau Claire, WI.

Marian Ella Silkey was born in Clark County, WI on August 26, 1921, the daughter of George and Anne (Henning) Silkey. She graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1939. Marian and Teddy Linster were united in marriage at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire on November 18, 1939. Together they farmed and took care of each other. When they retired in 1973 they made many trips to the west coast spending time together by the ocean and the mountains in Oregon. A place they truly loved.

Marian was a life member of the Women of the Moose and received many awards. She was a member of the Pine Valley Zion Lutheran Church where she was also a member of the Women of the Church. Marian served as the first secretary for the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Guild in Neillsville.

She will be greatly missed by her sister, Sally (George) Mohr whom Marian loved dearly, her special nephew, Shane (Kaycie) Mohr and their son, Mason and beloved niece, Heather Leigh (Christian) Wagner and their children, Serena Skie and Destyn who were her “Lovie” and “Dearie”, her half-sister, Ruth Lawrence and her family of Milwaukee. Many friends and relatives will remember her as “Auntie”, “Mumsie” and “Grandmother Marian”.

Marian was preceded in death by the love of her life, Teddy, her husband of 68 years, her parents and her step-father.

As Marian requested there will be no memorial services. Her family requests that memorials be directed to a Children’s Hospital or to the charity of your choice.

Online Condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.  The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Marian’s family with arrangements.

“Bye is forever, so for now I will just say Toot-a-loo.”
