Ching, Virginia A. (Boeck) (3 APR 1929 - 19 MAR 2018)
Virginia A. Ching, 78, of Stetsonville, passed away Thursday March 15, 2018 at
Care Partners in Medford, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of
Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice.
Virginia was born November 3, 1939 in Marshfield, WI to Joseph and Minnie
(Thomsen) Boeck. She is a 1957 graduate of Medford High School. She married Ron
Ching on August 15, 1964 in Whittlesey, WI. Ron preceded her in death.
She is survived by her Children: Allan (Laura) Ching of Stetsonville, Steven
Ching of Stetsonville, Michelle “Weasy” (Max) LaPorte of Medford, 5
Granddaughters: Misti, Mindy, Danielle, Malia, Kiah, 2 Great Granddaughters:
Madison, Lillian, Siblings: Jack Boeck of Medford and Kathy (Joe) Retterath of
Stetsonville, numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family in Hawaii.
She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, and Infant Brother William.
Virginia worked at the Medford Co-Op for over 40 years as a cashier, frozen food
manager and scanning department. She retired from there in 2013. She enjoyed
going to her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, and never missed one.
Virginia enjoyed taking bus trips and traveling, especially to Hawaii to visit
her husband’s family. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and like to play
cards and visit every morning with her daily coffee clutch. Virginia was a
member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00
AM, Saturday March 31, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Stetsonville.
Father Michael Hayden will officiate. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart
Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the
time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be given to Virginia’s family, for
designation at later date.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with
arrangements.
