Marcott, Evelyn A. (Goerg) (29 MAY 1924 - 18 MAR 2018)
Evelyn A. Marcott, 93, of Dorchester, died March 18, 2018, at Dycora Nursing
Home in Abbotsford under the care of Ministry St. Joseph Hospice.
She was born May 29, 1924, in Medford, to Fred and Mary (Ackeret) Goerg. She
attended Holy Rosary Catholic Grade School and graduated from Medford High
School.
Evelyn married Kenneth Marcott on May 29, 1948, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church
in Medford. They moved to Dorchester in 1949. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Evelyn is survived by three sons, Gary of Bonduell, David (Nancy) of Athens and
Tom (Rhonda) of Spencer; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one
sister, Marie Brecke of Florida.
She was further preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark; two brothers,
Clarence and Ray Goerg; and two brothers and one sister in infancy.
Evelyn worked at The Star News in Medford, and then worked as a secretary for
Dorchester Elementary School for 31 years. She loved sewing, quilt making,
reading and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St.
Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, and the Quilting Club.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Mass of Christian burial will be held
at 11 a.m. on Friday March 23, 2018, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.
Fr. Tim Oudenhoven and Fr. Schaefer will preside. Burial will take place in the
spring of 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Visitation will be
held Friday morning at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11
a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Evelyn can be given to a
charity of the donor’s choice.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford and Rib Lake has been entrusted with
arrangements.
