Medford native Madlin Elizabeth Kulig, 80, Independence, died Monday, November
3, 2003, at Tri-County Memorial Nursing Home in Whitehall.
Funeral services were Friday, November 7, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church
in Independence, with Rev. Douglas Robertson officiating. Burial was in the
church cemetery.

INDEPENDENCE — Madlin Kulig, 80, of Independence, died Monday, November 3, 2003,
at Tri-County Memorial Nursing Home, Whitehall.
She was born July 28, 1923, in Medford, Wis., to John and Mary (Ertl) Deml.
Madlin attended Medford Public Schools, Taylor County Normal School and Mt.
Senario College in Ladysmith. She married James Lindoo who died in 1956. She
married Marcel Kulig on August 22, 1964, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church
in Ladysmith.
Madlin was employed by Farm Credit Services for 42 years in the cities of
Medford, Ladysmith and Whitehall. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic
Church, Parish Council of Catholic Women and its Banquet Committee and the
Rosary Society.
Survivors include her husband, Marcel Kulig of Independence; a son, Mark (Cathy)
Kulig of Alma; four brothers, Jerome (Mary) Deml, Joe (Mary Jane) Deml, Henry
(Pat) Deml and Ray (Janet) Deml all of Medford; two sisters, Agnes Robida of
Stetsonville, Wis., and Mary (Floyd) Emmerich of Medford; a sister-in-law,
Theoma Deml of Washington, Penn.
Madlin was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Andrew Deml.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2003, at
SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Independence, with the Very Rev. Douglas C.
Robertson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at the Edison
Funeral Home, Independence, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday followed by a rosary.
