Sebesta, John (15 January 1884 – 30 November 1974)
A former Neillsville area resident, John Sebesta, 90, died November 30 at
Columbus Hospital in Chicago, Il., where he had been a patient for two weeks.
Private services were held Monday, December 2, from the Kolbus Funeral Home on
Higgins Ave. in Chicago.
Mr. Sebesta was born January 15, 1894, in Czechoslovakia to Jacob and Mary (Florian)
Sebesta and was the youngest and last-remaining member of a family of 12
children. He lived in the Neillsville area for many years; farmed in the Town of
Levis and was also a bricklayer.
Survivors include three sons; Robert of Rt. 3 Neillsville, and George and John
of Chicago; one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Gladys) Zapp, also of Chicago; and nine
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella, in 1957.
