Eau Claire - Bernice P. Miller, 86, of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire. She was born in Dorchester, WI, on July 25, 1931, a daughter of Benjamin and Clara (Rothammer) Ploeckelman.

Bernice married DuWayne W. Miller on February 6, 1951. They had celebrated 50 years of marriage before DuWayne passed away.

Bernice worked as a nurse's aide for St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, WI. She enjoyed gardening and loved taking care of her great-grandkids.

Bernice is survived by her son, DuWayne A. (Leatha) Miller; grandchildren, Kevin Miller and Kari (Paul) Schick; great-grandchildren, Hayleigh and Hayden Schick; sisters, Jolene Ploeckelman and Bonnie (Glenn) States; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, DuWayne W.; parents; sisters, Sylvia, Donna, Delores, Sue Ann and June; and a brother, Kenneth.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dove Healthcare West for all of their care.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire, with Pastor Jim Ahlquist officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Eau Claire.
