Harju, Anna (10 SEP 1888 – 21 DEC 1970)

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. December 24, 1970 in Lake Worth, Florida, and burial services were held at 1:30 p.m. December 28 at Riverside Cemetery, Withee for a former Withee resident, Mrs. Michael (Anna) Harju, 82, who died at Lake Worth Florida, December 21, 1970, after suffering a stroke.

Mrs. Harju was born September 10, 1888, in Finland. She came to the United States as a small child. In 1908 in Waukegan, Ill., she was married to John Ruotsi, who preceded her in death in June of 1931. They lived on a farm near Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) until her husband was killed while blasting stumps. She moved to Waukegan, and in 1937 she married Michael Harju. They lived in Lake Worth for the past 15 years.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Hangard Ruotsi, Waukegan, Ill.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son.
