Miller, Carl W. (4 FEB 1888 – 18 JAN 1971)
At two o'clock this afternoon (Thursday, January 21) funeral services for Carl
William Miller were conducted at St. John's Lutheran Church, Withee, with the
parish pastor, Rev. Arthur Hellert, officiating. Burial was made at Riverside
Cemetery.
Six grandsons, Allen and Marvin Miller, Vernon and Raymond Miller, Ted Baehr and
Gerald Carey served as pallbearers.
Mr. Miller passed away at 4:35 p.m. Monday, January 18, 1971 at Sacred Heart
Hospital, Eau Claire, succumbing to complications of old age. He was 82 years,
11 months and 14 days of age.
He was born February 4, 1888 at Eidsvold (Clark Co., Wis.), where he attended
school. On February 4, 1919 he and the former Ella Vetterkind were united in
marriage in a ceremony performed at Withee. The couple made their home in the
town of Reseburg, where they farmed, and he served several terms as a school
board member.
He is survived by his wife Ella; a sister, Mrs. Emma Auman, Stanley; four sons,
Ervin and Andrew, Withee; Edward, Loyal; and Elmer, Greenwood; one daughter,
Mrs. Kenneth (Geraldine) Baehr, Altoona; 11 grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
