Bauman, Viola A. "Vi" (Ress) (22 NOV 1940 - 24 MAR 2018)

Viola A. "Vi" Bauman, 72, of Mosinee, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the Emergency Department at Marshfield Medical Center.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:30AM on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield with Rev. Mark Krueger officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer from 4PM until 8PM and again on Thursday at the church in Marshfield from 10:30AM until the time of services.

The honor of pallbearer belongs to Dustin Kauffman, Dillon Bauman, Trevor, Tanner and Joe Vancour, Jerry Hansen, Junior Hansen and Jordan Freund.

Vi was born on January 13, 1946, the daughter of Henry and Viola (Hamus) Ress Sr. She graduated from Marshfield High School. Vi was united in marriage to James “Jim” Bauman Sr. on September 18, 1965. Her employment included Figi’s in Marshfield and housekeeping at Marshfield Medical Center, retiring in 2008 after 25 years of employment.

She was a Green Bay Packer fan, loved Ford trucks, enjoyed making blankets for the babies and baking and cooking for her family at the holidays. Vi liked to watch the birds and squirrels. Spending time for Independence Day at the lake and going on pontoon rides were the highlight of her year. Vi also enjoyed her trips to the casino and shaking dice at Sparky’s Pub. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and her canine companions Al and Jack.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 52 years, Jim of Mosinee; her children James (Mary) Bauman Jr. of Mosinee, Dawn Bauman of Auburndale and Jill (Joe) Vancour of Spencer; her grandchildren: Brittany (Jordan) Freund, Dillon (Heather) Bauman, Dustin (Jamie) Kauffman, Brooke (Dan Stelzer) Kauffman, Trevor, Tanner and Cloe Vancour and her great-grandchildren: Pierce Kauffman, Karter Kauffman, Cashton Stelzer and Charlotte Freund. Vi is further survived by her brothers: Lloyd (Ruthy) Ress of Marshfield, Floyd Ress of Marshfield and Henry Jr. (Lori) Ress of Marshfield; her sisters: Charlene Zychowicz of Poniatowski and Betty Ress of Spencer; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Harold Hansen Sr., Donna Mae (Jerome) Strack of Wisconsin Rapids, Barbara (Kenneth) Hardinger of Beaver Dam and Dennis Bauman of Wisconsin Rapids.

Vi was preceded in death by her parents Henry (Viola) Ress Sr.; her in-laws Raymond and Alma Bauman; her sisters Mona Hansen and Darlene Anderson and her brothers-in-law: Tony Zychowicz, Ronald Anderson, William Ress Sr. and Arlyn Bauman.

Her arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home–Spencer.
