Barrett, Gwendyth "Gwen" E. (Rattle) Rodefer (10 JUN 1918 - 25 DEC 2005)
Gwendyth "Gwen" E. (Rodefer) Barrett, age 87, of Tomah died Sunday, Dec. 25,
2005, at Memorial Hospital CBRF at Medford.
She was born June 10, 1918, to Oscar and Mabel (Elliot) Rattle in Madison. She
was united in marriage to Vern Rodefer on Aug. 30, 1936; he preceded her in
death in December of 1978. She was united in marriage to Edward R. Barrett, Sr.
on June 20, 1980; he preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 2003.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at the Portland, WA, shipyards as a welder,
at the V.A. Medical Center in Tomah and at Fort McCoy. She had moved to Medford
to live closer to her daughter Nancy.
She is survived by three children, Nancy (George) Daniels of Medford, Bernard
"Butch" (Sue) Rodefer of Ontario and Terrance (Linda) Rodefer of Warrens;
grandchildren Gwenn (Ted) Bever, Bill (Susie) Daniels, Bruce (Angela) Daniels,
Raymond (Ashlie) Daniels, Tammy, Steve Studsdahl, Terri (Mark) Olson, Gayla
(Joey) Travis, Debbie (Bill) Jones, Deniece Rodefer, David (Pam) Rodefer, Donna
(Bruce) Hobbs, Sandala (Ervin) Mulkey, Jessica (Brent) Richburg, Michael Rodefer,
Peter Badaluco, Elizabeth (Clayton) Deer and Amy Bishop; 40 great-grandchildren
and 12 great-great-grandchildren; brothers John (Cora) Rattle and Keith (Mitzi)
Rattle; a sister, Phyllis Schleicher; stepchildren, step-grandchildren,
step-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends
also survive her.
In addition to her parents and both of her husbands, she was preceded in death
by a son, Vernon Rodefer; a grandson, Terrance Rodefer Jr.; brothers Richard and
Oscar Rattle and a sister, Jean Ackerley.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's
Episcopal Church, 1001 McLean Ave., Tomah. Father John E. Ambelang will
officiate. Burial will be in Warren-Mills Cemetery at Warrens.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home
801 E. Monowau St., Tomah, today (Thursday), Dec. 29, from 4 until 8 p.m. and at
the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services.
