Marine Cpl. James M. Poehnelt, route 1, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), was awarded
the air medal and wings of gold while serving with Marine medium helicopter
squadron 364 in Vietnam.
The air medal is awarded to a Marine who has flown 20 combat missions.
To earn air crewman wings Cpl. Poehnelt has successfully completed classroom
instruction in engineering aircraft inspection, survival and ordnance. He also
received over 50 hours of flight instruction as an air crewman.
