Watenpuhl, Jeanette Lucille (19 December 1930 – 30 March 2018)
Jeanette L. Watenpuhl, age 87, of Neillsville, WI died on Friday, March 30, 2018
at the Riverside Assisted Living in Neillsville.
Jeanette Lucille Drescher was born on December 19, 1930 in the Town of Grant,
the daughter of Arnold Edwin and Laura Bertha (Gerzmehle) Drescher. She
graduated from Neillsville High School in 1949. On March 27, 1950 she was united
in marriage to Arvid Watenpuhl. Together they farmed and raised their family.
Jeanette always had a big garden and loved growing an abundance of flowers. In
1967 she started a career in retail sales working at Berger’s Men’s Wear, later
known as the Clothing Cupboard, then for Russell’s Hardware and finished her
career at The Clothes Rack. Jeanette loved sewing, embroidery and making woven
rugs. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was a
member of the Ladies Aid. She also volunteered at the Memorial Medical Center
Nursing Home where she has been a member of the Sunshine Friends since 2000.
She will be lovingly missed by her daughters, Marilyn (Jeffrey) Sigler of
Wisconsin Rapids, and Barbara (Daniel) Sours of Chippewa Falls, grandchildren,
Jeremy Parrish, Erin Sigler, Derek (Jessica) Sigler, a great grandson, Wyatt
Parrish, and a sister, Evelyn Silkey of Marshfield, along with many nieces and
nephews.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 3 brothers, Leonard
(Vera), Stanley and Lawrence (Josephine) and a brother-in-law, Ervin Silkey.
Funeral services for Jeanette will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2018
at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert
will officiate. Visitation will also be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on
Monday morning at the church. Interment will be in the North Pine Valley
Cemetery.
