Hoffmann, Alfred A. (16 NOV 1921 - 3 APR 2018)
Alfred A. Hoffmann, age 96, of Stratford, passed away at his daughter's
residence on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Peace
Lutheran Church in Town of Frankfort (F1843 Huckleberry Road). Rev. Dave Udden
will officiate. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Family and friends
are welcome from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6 at the
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford and from 10:00 a.m. until time of
service Saturday at the church.
Alfred was born on November 16, 1921, the son of Paul and Paulina (Bradow)
Hoffmann in the Town of Johnson, Marathon County. On October 7, 1950, Alfred was
united in marriage to Charlotte Komarek at Peace Lutheran Church. She preceded
him in death on October 17, 1998. He took over his parent’s farm in the Town of
Johnson and farmed there for many years. He also worked road construction while
farming.
Alfred was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church. He was an avid hunter and
hunted until he was 92. Most importantly, Alfred cherished his family.
Alfred is survived by his daughter, Janice Drexler of Stratford; five
grandchildren: Jody (Sara) Drexler, Jamie (Brian) Halvorsen, Julie (Sam)
Ridgway, Justin (Steph) Drexler and Jenny (Mike) Laurin and 13
great-grandchildren. He is further survived by Darnel Hoffmann of Athens; two
sisters-in-law, Geraldine Zettler and Ruth Komarek; nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlotte; a daughter, Rhonda
in 1975; five brothers and three sisters.
