Pensacola, Florida – Navy Ensign Larry A Westberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville
P. Westberg of route 2, Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), completed the first step to
becoming a naval aviator by soloing a Navq T-34R "Mentor" aircraft at the Naval
Air Station, Pensacola, Florida.
The vent marked the termination of five months of intensive training, which
included extensive academic, military and physical training.
After completing a total of 18 months of flight training, he will earn his Navy
"Wings of Gold."
