Harju, Michael V. (25 SEP 1885 – 30 MAR 1971)
Michael Victor Harju, 85, of 649 Fulton Avenue, Waukegan, Illinois, died March
30, 1971 at Victory Memorial Hospital at Waukegan.
He was born in Finland September 25, 1885. After coming to the United States he
live in DeKalb, Illinois. Later he came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), where he
lived from 1934 to 1937. Then he moved back to DeKalb and Waukegan, and later to
Lake Worth, Florida.
He was employed by American Steel and wire Company at DeKalb, Ill. most of his
life as a carpenter.
His relatives are a step-son, Haagerd K. Ruotsi, Waukegan, Ill.; two sisters,
Edla Luoma, DeKalb, Ill., and Hilma, Rockford, Ill.; four nephews and three
nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, who passed away December 24, 1970 in
Florida.
Funeral services will be held at Waukegan, Illinois today at 2 p.m., with
interment at Riverside Cemetery, Withee, tomorrow afternoon.
