The Owen-Withee High School faculty are happy to announce the Badger Boy and
Girl selections for 1970-71.
This year, the Van Huizen-Fritz American Legion Post Auxiliary decided to
sponsor two girls to the camp at Madison. Connie Wagner, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Raymond Wagner, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Rosie Gay, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Ernie Gay, Owen, were the girls selected. Amber Nirva, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Chester Nirva, route 1, Withee, and Margaret Missling, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Raymond Missling, route 1, Withee, were the two alternates selected.
These young people are sponsored by the Local American Legion Post & Auxiliary,
and selected from the junior class of Owen-Withee High School, by the high
school faculty. Scholarship, extra-curricular activities, and the ability to fit
into the state program as set up for these students were the criteria used in
their selection.
