Peterson, Ada (6 NOV 1903 – 13 MAY 1971)

At two o'clock Monday afternoon, May 17, 1971, funeral services were conducted from the United Church of Christ, Owen, for Mrs. Swan Peterson, who died at 11 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 1971 at St. Joseph's Hospital, following a lingering illness.

Rev. Hilding Peterson, pastor of the parish, officiated at the service, with burial being made at Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were S.E. Grimes, Roy Swanson, Henry Buss, Harold Wendt, Ellis Van Horn and Douglas Braithwaite.

Mrs. Peterson, nee Ada C. Thorson, was born November 6, 1903 in Taylor County, and was 67 years, 6 months and ten days of age at the time of her death. On September 20, 1927 she exchanged marriage vows with Swan Peterson in a ceremony performed at Suttons Bay, Michigan. The couple lived in the town of Green Grove (Clark Co.) for many years, and then in 1962 built a new home in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), where they have since resided. For several years she was employed as an attendant at the Clark County Hospital, and was retired from that position in December of 1970. She excelled in music and found much comfort and relaxation in this art.

She is survived by her husband, Swan, a son, Harley Peterson, Stevens Point; a sister, Mrs. Wm. (Viola) Bonk, Suttons Bay, Michigan; and a brother, Kenneth Thorson, Kenosha.

She was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
