Nielsen, Hans (25 MAY 1914 - 3 OCT 2005)
Hans Nielsen, 91, Green Bay, died Monday, October 3, 2005. He was born May 25,
1914, to the late Jacob and Anna (Nielsen) Nielsen in Oconto, Wis.
On Aug. 24, 1938, he married Meryl F. Peterson in Stetsonville, Wis. He was a
member of First United Methodist Church.
Hans loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his
beloved cabin in Athelstane. The biggest tragedy in his life was when his loving
wife, Meryl, became ill and needed additional care at Manor Care, West.
Survivors include his wife, Meryl; one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Jay
Froming, Green Bay; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Roger and Kathy Nielsen,
Howard, and Steven Nielsen, Coleman, Wis.; five grandchildren, Cheri (Steve)
Nenahlo, Green Bay, Chad Froming, Plymouth, Wis., Colleen (Nate) Mentink, Camp
Pendleton, Calif., Eric (Jennifer) Nielsen, Stevens Point, and Gretchen Nielsen,
Orlando, Fla.; six great-grandchildren, Tucker Mentink, Kannon Mentink, Griffin
Mentink, Taylor Nenahlo, Spencer Nenahlo and Hans Nielsen; and one sister, Karen
Redfield, Green Bay.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Theodore;
and three sisters, Lillian Brumlic, Thora Rose and Jenny Nowak.
Friends may call after 12 noon Thursday, Oct. 6, at Lyndahl Funeral Home where
the funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Johnsen
officiating. Burial will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park.
