Colby - Stella M. Schauer, age 81, of Abbotsford, passed away on Friday, April
6, 2018 at The Waterford in Colby.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Zion
Lutheran Church in Colby. The Rev. Mark Neumann will officiate. Family and
friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the
church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Colby is entrusted with the
arrangements.
Stella was born on July 15, 1936, the daughter of Emil and Lydia (Jurgemeyer)
Venzke in the Town of Johnson. She graduated from Abbotsford High School. Stella
was united in marriage to Donald Schauer on October 23, 1954 in Milan. He
preceded her in death on February 18, 2017. She worked at Hawkeye Dairy for
several years.
Stella was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. She loved fishing, bird
watching, needle point, camping, going to the casino, picking berries and making
jam. Stella also taught her children how to squirrel hunt. Most importantly, she
cherished her family and never missed any of her grandchildren's sporting
events.
Stella is survived by four children: Burt (Theresa) Schauer of Spencer, Gary
(Patty) Schauer of Holcombe, Nancy Schauer of Tomahawk and Todd (Peggy) Schauer
of Tomahawk; nine grandchildren: Stephanie Schauer, Joshua Schauer, Travis
(Trisha) Schauer, Kelly (Corey) Demulling, Dustin (Ashley) Schauer, Jacob
(Katie) Luther, Isaac Luther, Tiffany Schauer and Mitchell Schauer; nine
great-grandchildren: Cal, Max, Dane, Reed, Samantha, Brooklynn, Aiden, Gavin and
Teigen. She is further survived by her brother Ed (Evelyn) Venzke of Hubertus;
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and eight brothers and
sisters.
