Schuebel, Truman R. (13 JUN 1929 - 31 MAR 2018)
Truman R. Schuebel, age 88 of Stanley, died on Saturday, March 31, 2018. He was
born on June 13, 1929 in Stanley to Charles and Dori (McCaffery) Schuebel.
After graduating from Stanley-Boyd High, he briefly worked as a truck driver. He
returned home to work on the family farm and start his family. On February 2,
1951, he married the former MaryAnn Nayes at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Boyd.
In May of 1952, Truman started driving bus for the local school district,
becoming bus supervisor in 1963. His dedication to the district continued with
his election to the school board in 1983 until his retirement in 1994, serving
several of those years as the board’s president. He was also a member of the
Stanley Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, MaryAnn; seven children: Brenda (Gary) Brzozowski of
Eau Claire, Bruce (Glenda) of Stanley, Kathy (Keith) Marion of Eau Claire, Brent
(Janice) of Boyd, Shelia (Ron) Patten of Boyd, Tammy (Thom) Valley of New Auburn
and Patti (Rick) Sommerfield of Chippewa Falls; 33 grandchildren, 45
great-grandchildren and a sister: Avis Fellman of St. Paul, MN.
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Vickie; a son: Kevin “Digger”; two
brothers: Claire and Barry and two sisters: Shirley Drace and Carol Seidling.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM
at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley. Interment will follow in the church
cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 4th at the Plombon Funeral
Home, Stanley from 4-8 PM with a parish vigil service and rosary at 7 PM, and
again on Thursday from 9 AM until departing for church.
