Bolf, Anthony Albert (7 January 1931 – 4 January 1975)
Clark County recorded its first traffic fatality of 1975 with the death of a
rural Greenwood man in a head-on crash about 5:30 p.m. Saturday on a Mead town
road.
Anthony Albert Bolf, 43, Rt. 3 Greenwood, sustained fatal neck injuries when the
vehicle he was driving collided on a hill crest with an auto driven by Arlen R.
Klapatauskas, Rt. 3 Thorp.
Klapatauskas was treated for facial injuries at a Marshfield hospital.
Funeral services for Anthony Bolf were scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, at
9:30 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Greenwood, and at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s
Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Houston officiating. A wake service was
held Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Interment was to be in St. Mary’s
Cemetery.
Mr. Bolf, son of Matthew and Katherine (Briski) Bolf, was born January 7, 1931,
in Gallup, N.M. His marriage to the former Dorothy Koblyinski took place June
14, 1955, in Thorp.
He came to this area in 1932 with his parents, who settled on his present farm
home eight miles northwest of Greenwood.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters: Marlene, Susan and
Virginia, and two sons, James and Bernard, all at home; four sisters: Mrs.
William (Mary) Mickett of Greenwood, Mrs. Robert (Katherine) Becker of Isle, Mn.,
Mrs. Harry (Ann) Malizny of Chicago, Il., and Mrs. William (Delores) Benzchawel
of Owen; and three brothers, Michael of Greenwood, and John and Matthew of
Hanover Park, Il.
