Kammerer, Joseph (21 January 1902 – 30 January 1974)

Funeral services were held Friday, January 3, from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Joseph Kammerer of Rt. 1 Greenwood, who died December 30 in Neillsville at the age of 72. The Rev. Joseph Henseler of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiated, and burial followed in the parish cemetery.

The son of Anton and Katherine (Keller) Kammerer, he was born January 21, 1902, in Hungary and came to the United States with his mother and other children in the family when they joined the elder Mr. Kammerer in Chicago. Joseph Kammerer attended school in Chicago. He worked for AT&T for a time, then came to Clark County in 1930 and farmed until he retired because of failing health.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Samie (Mary) Ball of Neillsville, and one brother, Anton Kammerer of Port Richie, Fl.

Pallbearers were Ben Schwellenbach, Harold Milbreit, Robert Opelt, Joe Kurasz, Fred Dahnert and Ted Ampe. Mrs. John Schiesel was the organist.
