Watenpuhl, Marilyn Marie (Marriage – 11 January 1975)
Miss Marilyn Marie Watenpuhl became the bride of Jeffrey Lee Sigler in a 3 p.m.
ceremony performed Saturday, January 11, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran
Church by the Rev. Norman W. Lindloff. Afterwards, a reception was held at St.
John’s school.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Watenpuhl, Rt. 3 Neillsville and
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Sigler, Rt. 1 Merrillan.
For her wedding, the bride, chose an empire style gown of white crepe over satin
fashioned with a V-neckline accented by lace ruffling and long, full sleeves
with lace cuffs. The skirt swept into a chapel train. A Camelot headpiece caught
her floor length veil. She carried a bouquet of red roses, white carnations and
white chrysanthemums as she was presented in marriage by her father.
Barbara Watenpuhl, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were
Mrs. Michael Smith, Mrs. Carol Schoengarth and Miss Christine Hansen, the latter
of Menomonee Falls. Their scoop-neck, full-skirted A-line gowns of magenta crepe
were complimented by long-sleeved, fitted jackets. Deep Blue star flowers and
lavender Elegance carnations accented with sprigs of greenery formed their
bouquets.
Attending the groom were Steve Sigler, Wisconsin Rapids, as bestman and Mike
Sigler, Merrillan, Randy Bennett, Wisconsin Rapids, and Sp4 Michael Flanagan,
Ft. Carson, Co, as groomsmen. Guests were seated by Randall Watenpuhl, West
Allis, and Dale VanErt, Wisconsin Rapids.
Sharon Weber was the organist. Soloist Jeanne Paape, Green Bay, sang “The Lord’s
Prayer” and “Entreat Me Not to Leave Thee.”
The bride was honored at a prenuptial shower given by Mrs. Michael Smith and
Barbara Watenpuhl.
The newlyweds, both Neillsville High School graduates, will make their home in
Wisconsin Rapids. The new Mrs. Sigler has been attending the University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Her husband is employed at a paper mill.
