Fravert, Bernice E. (22 MAR 1926 – 10 APR 2018)

Bernice Evelyn (nee Schwarze) Fravert, 92, Greenwood, died on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Marshfield Medical Center. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, April 21, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood. Rev. Asafa Rajaofera will officiate.

Bernice Schwarze was born on March 22, 1926, to Arthur and Bertha (nee Noah) Schwarze. She graduated from Greenwood High School. Prior to marriage, Bernice worked in Milwaukee and in Eau Claire for the Wisconsin Telephone Company. On June 10, 1948, Bernice married LeRoy D. Fravert and they farmed west of Greenwood. She was a loving mother to eight active children. Bernice enjoyed writing poetry, baking, embroidery, sewing, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and flowers. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ her entire life.

Survivors include eight children: James (Mary) Fravert of Brookfield, Jane (Thomas) Gerber of Rice Lake, Charlene (Richard) Stevens of Black River Falls, LeRoy Jr. (Linda) Fravert of Loyal, Betty (Dean Drevlow) Peer of Polk City, Iowa, Vicki (Gary) Pratt of Chicago, Ill., Kathryn (Dennis) Olenski of Hortonville, and Ruth Fravert of Greenwood; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, and a sister-in-law.
