Wigstadt, William (21 DEC 1896 – 5 JUN 1971)
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 8, 1971 at the Lutheran Church in
Winchester, for William Wigstadt, formerly of Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.), now
of Neenah, who died Saturday, June 5th, 1971 at Theda Clark Hospital, Neenah,
where he had been a patient since May 13, following a stroke. He was 74 years of
age.
Mr. Wigstadt was born December 21, 1896 in Dorchester and was married October
19, 1946 in Neenah, to Martha Sriem, who survives. He received his education in
the Cleveland School and served in World War I. He and his brother operated his
father's farm until 1945, when he and his wife began operating a farm at Larson,
Wis. They then operated a farm near Neenah until 1970, when they moved to the
city of Neenah.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Kristi) Chadek, who recently
returned from Germany; and Kathleen, who graduated from Waverly College in
Waverly, Iowa; a son, David, at home; and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Mioland,
Withee, and Mrs. Carl Braun, Dorchester.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
