Segerstrom, Helen M. (11 AUG 1898 – 13 JUN 1971)
Friends of Mrs. Roy Segerstrom, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), became concerned when
they didn't see her up and about as usual Sunday, and upon investigation found
her dead in her bed. Authorities said she passed away in her sleep Sunday, June
13, 1971. She was 72 years of age and lived along.
The Owen Order of the Eastern Star Lodge, of which she was a member, held
services Tuesday evening at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home, and then at 1:15
yesterday, Wednesday, June 16, the Rev. A. Overlein of New Lisbon officiated at
funeral services conducted from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home. Burial was
made at River Falls.
Serving as pallbearers were W.R. Haire, Edgar Albert, Sigurd Sorensen, Don
Hawks, Louis Burhop and William Kangas.
The former Helen Marie Dawson was born August , 11, 1898, in Slayton, Minn., and
it was there she received her education. On August 6, 1939 she and the late Roy
Segerstrom were married in a ceremony performed at Minneapolis. He preceded her
in death, passing away June 26, 1970. The couple had made their home in River
Falls and Spring Valley, where he was associated with the lumber business. In
1949 they came to this community and she had served as a bookkeeper with O & N
Lumber Co. and Badger Valve Co., Withee.
She is survived by two sons, David Segerstrom, Hustler, and Robert Segerstrom,
Greeley, Colo.; five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Peterson,
Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Stan (Mildred) Lindberg, Long Beach, Calif.
