Berg, Eleanor M. (Hummel) (25 OCT 1930 - 11 APR 2018)
Eleanor M. Berg, 87, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She died at Luther Mayo
Hospital in Eau Claire after a short illness.
Eleanore was born on Oct. 25, 1930 in Wausau. She was married to LaVell Berg on
Dec. 22, 1951 at St. Peters Church Schofield. Together, they had three children,
Valerie Stanenas Wacker (Marty), Julie Holmquist (Rick) and Fred Berg (Joy).
She was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She then taught
elementary school in Shawano, Norfolk, Va., Rothschild, Washburn and Ladysmith
Elementary for 23 years. She was an exceptional teacher, who loved children, and
they loved her.
Eleanor is survived by her sister, Marion Schultz of Wausau; her three children;
six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mable Hummel and her
brothers, Carl, John, Bill and Burt.
A memorial service will be held on April 28 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church
Ladysmith. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28. A family
service will follow at 11 a.m.
She will be buried in Wausau at a later date.
