Ertl, Andrew (22 MAR 1898 - 7 APR 1977)
Andrew Ertl, 79, of 710 E. South St., Medford, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April
7, 1977, at Medford Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for two
weeks.
Rites will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford.
Officiating will be the Rev. William Green, pastor. Burial will follow in
Medford Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the Hemer Funeral Home, where a prayer
vigil will be at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Ertl was born March 22, 1898, in Medford and attended Medford area schools.
He married the former Hattie Frenzel April 4, 1925, in Medford. She died in
1963.
After his marriage he worked in lumber camps in Rib Lake and farmed in the Town
of Medford for more than 40 years, retiring in 1966. He also worked for Hurd
Millwork for a period of time. After his retirement, he was employed part time
with Gelhaus and Brost Inc. garage.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Querin (Marcella) Thums, Medford; two sons,
Don and Wally, both of Medford; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
