Paul, Lorraine J. (Herkowski) (4 JAN 1931 - 12 APR 2018)

Lorraine J. Paul, 87, of Dorchester, passed away on Thursday, April 12 at Care Partners Assisted Living, Medford where she had resided for the past 14 months most recently under the care of Hope Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 16 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Town of Holway, with Pastor Amy Heinz officiating. Interment will follow at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Town of Holway.

Visitation will be at 9 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Monday, April 16 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Holway.

Pallbearers are Steve, Ryan, Jason & Andy Paul, Tracy Hanlin, Jim and Jesse Nehls and Chris McCurdy.

Lorraine was born on January 4, 1931, at Milwaukee, to Edward and Jennie Johana (Zblewski) Herkowski. She was educated in Milwaukee elementary schools and attended Milwaukee Custer High School.

On June 19, 1950, she married James Henry Paul in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death October 4, 2003.

Prior to her marriage, she worked in Milwaukee. After marriage, they farmed in the Town of Little Black for many years until retirement. She was a past 4-H leader. She enjoyed sewing, square dancing, knitting, quilting for the church, crocheting, traveling, gardening, feeding the birds and playing cards with her girlfriends. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Town of Holway and its Woman’s Group.

Lorraine is survived by children Jim (Marti) Paul, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Jeff (Linda) Paul of Curtiss and Jenny (Rick) Nehls of Medford; Son-in-law: John McCurdy of West Linn, Oregon; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; She is also survived by siblings, Ronnie (Kelly) Herkowski of Eau Claire & Ione Wheeler of Adell, WI.

She is predeceased by her husband James, parents Edward and Jennie Johana (Zblewski) Herkowski; Daughter - Jill McCurdy; and siblings Evelyn, Leonard, Richard, Marian, Eddie, Joanne & Elenor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given either to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, W7809 Apple, Medford, WI 54451 or Hope Hospice, 537 W. Broadway, Medford, WI 54451
