Buchholz, Mr./Mrs. Fred (Golden – 20 January 1975)
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Buchholz, Rt. 3 Neillsville, were honored Saturday evening,
January 18, with a card party in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The event was held at the Dairyland Fox and Coon Hunters clubhouse.
Fred Buchholz and the former Mabel Morse were married January 20, 1925, in
Neillsville and have farmed in the Christie area for most of their married life.
Mrs. Buchholz is a native of the Christie community. Her husband, who came to
the area in 1917 with his family, was born at Pine River near Merrill in Lincoln
County.
The couple retired in 1966 and built their present home on County Trunk H west
of Christie. A son, Richard, now operates the home farm. They are members of the
Christie United Methodist Church.
All of the Buchholz’s six children were expected to be present for the
anniversary observance. They are: Mrs. Arnold (Leona) Mueller, New Berlin;
Arnold Buchholz, Rt. 1 Greenwood; Richard Buchholz, Rt. 3 Neillsville; Mrs.
Jerry (Alice) Smith, Rt. 2 Neillsville; Mrs. Leland (Martha) Appleyard, Sparta;
and Mrs. Lawrence (Caroline) Spaete, Belvidere, Il.
There are also 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
