Gungor, Orhan S. (12 May 1902 – 15 January 1975)

Funeral services for Orhan S. Gungor, 72, who died Wednesday, January 15, at his home in Neillsville, were held Thursday afternoon from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home and at the Neillsville City Cemetery where the body was interred. The Rev. D. E. Sprague of the Neillsville Assembly of God officiated.

Mr Gungor, son of Semel and Nazire Gungor, was born May 12, 1902, in Bulgaria. He was married there to the former Ayse Hasim in 1927. Mrs. Gungor preceded her husband in death.

Surviving are two children: Dr. Bahri Gungor of Neillsville and Turgut Gungor of Turkey; one sister in Bulgaria; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Howard Sturtz II, Norman Saracoff, Steve Gungor, Sherrin Mack, Tom Wepfer and Dr. N. Capati.

Harold Schlinsog sang “Under His Wings” and “Beyond the Sunset.” LeOra Bezlyk was the accompanist.

Moslem burial rites at the graveside were by Dr. C. H. Ozturk.

Many from Loyal, Greenwood, and the Neillsville area attended the services.
