Ranney, Sgt. Gary L. (Military - 1975)
Sgt. Gary L. Ranney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Kluckhohn of Rt. 2 Neillsville,
is a member of a unit that recently received the Air Force “Outstanding Unit”
award for the third time.
Sgt. Ranney is a communications equipment repairman at Lindsey Air Station,
Germany, with the Air Force Communications Service’s 2nd Mobile Communications
groups, which earned the award for exceptionally meritorious service from April
2, to June 23, 1974.
The group was cited for providing communications support for the U. S., Great
Britain and Egypt while the combined forces cleared the Suez Canal and adjacent
areas of unexploded ordnance.
The sergeant is a 1968 graduate of Neillsville High School.
