Champa, Michael (8 NOV 1946 – 08 APR 1973)
Michael Champa, 26, of 515 Stevens St., Addison, Ill., a former Willard (Clark
Co., Wis.) resident, died early Sunday morning at the hospital in Arlington
Heights, Ill., where he had been admitted following a boating accident. The
accident happened at 10 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 1972 on Fox Lake in Illinois.
The body was brought to Greenwood at 11 a.m. Wednesday and was then taken to the
Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard at 8 p.m. Wednesday for visitation.
Servcies will be held at the church at 10 a.m. Thursday (today), with the Rev.
Michael G. Mertens, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the parish
cemetery.
Mr. Champa was born November 8 1946 in Willard and attended the Willard schools.
He was a 1964 graduate of the Greenwood High School, and was married to the
former Roxanne Lang of Marshfield.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Stephanie) Telkas, Chicago,
and Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Cushman, Racine; three brothers, Frank Champa and Louis
Champa Jr., both of Chicago, and Sylvester Champa, Rochester, Minn., and his
mother, Mrs. Stephanie Champa, Owen.
His father, Louis Champa, preceded him in death July 10, 1972.
