Herrick, Dale T. (27 JUL 1927 - 22 APR 2018)
Dale T. Herrick, 90, passed away at his home in New Auburn, Wis., on Sunday,
April 22, 2018.
He was born July 27, 1927, in Stanley, Wis., to Thomas and Jennie (Johnson)
Herrick. Dale married Rhoda Ann Vanderboss on April 30, 1953, in Angola, Ind.
He worked in construction and also laid telephone cable for many years. He
proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea and was a member
of the American Legion in New Auburn. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing
cards. Dale was a storyteller and a jokester, always willing to share a tale or
two with his family and friends. He loved his family and his grandkids very
much.
He is survived by his son, Thomas Herrick, of Bloomer, Wis.; daughters Paula
(John) Christianson, of New Auburn, Delana (Doug Warne) Calkins, of Cadott,
Wis., and Valeta (Paul) Knoll, of New Auburn; sisters Virginia (Wilfred) Hakes
and Lola Rummery; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rhoda, son Terry, granddaughter
Stacy Rae Christianson and numerous siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, at 11 a.m., at Bethel
Lutheran Church in New Auburn, followed by military honors provided by the New
Auburn American Legion. Interment will be in the Mount Nebo Cemetery in the town
of Jump River, Wis.
