Weyer, Diane Mae (28 JUL 1973)
Miss Diane Mae Weyer, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. Harry D. Witmer, Loyal,
were united in marriage at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 1973 at St. Anthony's
Catholic Church in Loyal. Father Norbert E. King officiated at the nuptial mass,
at which St. Anthony's Adult Choir sang, accompanied by Kathy McNeely on the
organ.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Richard Weyer Sr.
Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Weyer, R.R. 2, Loyal, and
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Witmer, Nelson, Wisconsin.
The bride was seen in a white bridal gown of Sata Peau in Victorian styling,
with Elizabethan sleeves with high cuffs, and a full swinging skirt. She had a
matching triple mantilla, cathedral length, on bandeau crown.
Her flowers were a crescent bouquet of white orchids, pink rose buds and
stephanotis.
Mrs. Jud Huber, Spencer, as matron of honor, and Rita Tasse, Marshfield, and
Bonnie Witmer, Marshfield, as bridesmaids, were seen in mint green peppermint
pink and maize yellow gowns, with apron effect accented with floral print. They
carried bouquets of green, pink and yellow carnations.
Philip Breidel, Madison, was best man, and Don Weyer, Loyal, and Joe Witmer,
Nelson, were groomsmen.
Paul Witmer, Nelson, and Alan Weyer, Ft. Hood, Texas, performed ushering duties.
A reception and dance were held at the Spencer Municipal Hall, with a dinner at
St. Anthony's Hall, Loyal.
Mrs. Witmer is a graduate of Loyal High School and a May 6, 1973 graduate of
Madison General Hospital School of Nursing, and is employed at St. Joseph's
Hospital, Marshfield.
Her husband si a graduate of Greencastle, Pa., High School, and a graduate of
Shippensburg Pa. State College, and teaches social studies at Loyal High School.
They will make their home at R.R. 1, Spencer.
