Zvolena, Leona I. (1927? – 25 APR 2018)
Loyal - LEONA I. ZVOLENA, age 90, of Loyal, passed away at the House of the
Dove, in Marshfield, on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Funeral services will be held
at 11am on Monday, April 30 at York Center United Methodist Church, rural
Granton. Rev. Patsy Roe will officiate, and burial will follow at the York
Center Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Joshua, Jeremy, Andrew, Travis &
Paul Zvolena, Matt Tellock, & Dominick Kortokrax. Visitation will be held at the
church on Sunday, April 29 from 4pm to 8pm, and again on Monday, from 10am until
time of service.
Leona was born in Milladore, WI to John and Fern Jadack. She was raised and
received her education in the Milladore area and graduated from Auburndale High
School. After high school, Leona worked at Hardware Mutual Insurance now Sentry
Insurance. She was united in marriage to Joseph Zvolena in 1948. They farmed in
the Milladore area for several years and then moved to Loyal where they farmed
until their retirement.
She was a member of York Center Methodist Church, the Loyal American Legion
Auxiliary, the Clark County Homemakers, the Czech Slovak Singers, and served on
the Town of York Election Board for many years.
Leona loved spending time with her family and had many interests including
gardening, baking, canning, square dancing, and their many fishing trips to
Canada.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Joe, of Loyal; 3 daughters: Judy Lord
(Wally Baehr) of Withee, Barbara (Bill) Kortokrax of Cedar Lake, IN, Cindy (Dan)
Burns of Marshfield; 4 sons: Jesse (Yvette) Zvolena of Loyal, Mike (Nancy)
Zvolena of Loyal, Ted (Pat) Zvolena of Loyal, Roger (Lori) Zvolena of Spencer;
22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law: Cindy Zvolena of
Loyal; one brother: Robert Jadack of Wisconsin Rapids; one brother-in-law:
Eugene Richardson of Hayward and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, John Zvolena; her
daughter-in-law, Pamela Zvolena; and 2 sisters; Loretta (Reiny) Feit and
Lorraine Richardson.
The family would like to give their heartfelt thank you to the staff of The
House of Dove for their loving and compassionate care of Leona.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to The House of Dove or York Center
United Methodist Church of Granton, WI in Memory of Leona.
