The family of Mrs. Albert Davel held a family reunion the weekend of August 11,
1973 to celebrate Mrs. Davel's 93rd birthday. This was the first time the eleven
children had been together in twenty years Of the 102 descendants, 87 members of
the family came for the celebration.
Sunday, Father N.E. King was the celebrant at the Mass at St. Anthony's Catholic
Church. Two grandsons, Tom and Robert Zettler, served, and a granddaughter,
Sister Rose Mirium, was the lecturer. The adult choir sang the Mass. After the
Mass there was a family dinner at the Amber Inn.
Those who attended were Mrs. Fred (Evelyn) Nolan and Nancy, Minneapolis; Mr. and
Mrs. Lawrence Davel, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Davel, Scott and Dana of Loyal; Mr. and
Mrs. Scott (Marie) Canney of Algoma; Mr. and Mrs. Al (Gertrude) Phair of
Oshkosh; Edward Davel and daughter Susie of Lombard, Ill.; Matina Davel, Loyal;
Mrs. James (Katherine) Babb and Kenneth and Susie of Orlando, Florida; Mr. and
Mrs. Lucian (Madeline) Krawczyk, James, Judy and Ann of Pulaski; Mrs. Wm. (Jane)
Simpson and Laura Lou of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Al (Dorothy) Schmook and
Karen, Peggy, Amy, Jim and Robert of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Prokash and
children of Algoma; Mrs. Judy Zervas and Heidi of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Dan
Krause and family from Davenport, Iowa; Sister Rose Mirium of Elm Grove; Mr. and
Mrs. Patrick Phair of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Dale Maki and family, Milwaukee; Mr.
and Mrs. Peter Davel and family, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Davel and family,
Menasha; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Zettler and family of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. James
Davel and family of Menasha; Mr. and Mrs. Ken Zettlow of Green Bay.
Besides the immediate family, other guests were: Mrs. Davel's sister, Mrs. Lula
Gustafson and her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Eiken; and Mrs.
Davel's brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. James Davel of Minneapolis.
James Davel, a grandson, acted at Master of Ceremonies at the dinner, while
Father King gave the invocation. Mrs. Davel cut a huge birthday cake which had
been baked by her son-in-law, Lucian Krawczyk and Mrs. Dale )Paula) Maki, also
received in honor of her birthday.
