The 12th annual reunion of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schwantes descendants was held at the North Wood County Park on August 26, 1973. Approximately 100 attended. The event included a potluck dinner. The day was spent visiting, after a short business meeting. A happy birthday song was sung for Mrs. Harold Hansen, who was celebrating her birthday that day.

This year's births included a son to Mr. and Mrs. Mike Schwantes of Hewitt, Minn., a son to Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Schwantes, Spencer, and a son by adoption to Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cook of Sheboygan Falls.

It was decided to have next year's reunion on the fourth Sunday of August, with Mr. and Mrs. James Trieweiler on the committee. This eyar's committee was Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Schillinger and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Schwantes.

Guests came from Des Moines, Iowa, Hewitt, Minn., Minneapolis, Minn., Chicago, Ill., Two Rivers, Edgar, Schofield, Abbotsford, Unity, Madison, Brillion, Reedsville, Appleton, Port Edwards, Sheboygan Falls, Janesville, Marshfield, Wausau and Spencer.
