The 90th anniversary of Zion Lutheran Church, Granton (Clark Co., Wis.), was
celebrated on Sunday, September 23, 1973, with a large crowd in attendance.
A former pastor, the Rev. Arthur Laesch, Pewaukee, delivered an inspiring
anniversary message. A short history of the church in booklet form, written by
Richard Hillert Sr., was given to each family or member present.
After the service, a potluck dinner, sponsored by the Ladies Aid, was served in
the parish hall. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship, and Pastor Laesch greeted
former members and friends of the Granton area. It had been 29 years ago that
the Rev. Laesch left Granton to serve a congregation in Superior, and observed
many changes had taken place during that time.
