Schmidt, John P. (21 JUL 1894 – 22 SEP 1973)

John P. Schmidt, 79, 116 N. West St., Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 10 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 1973 at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with burial in the parish cemetery. Rev. Nobert E. King officiated at the services.

A K.C. Rosary was held at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, a general Rosary at 8:30, with a PCCW Rosary at 4 p.m.

Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

John P. Schmidt was born July 21, 1894 in the Town of York (Clark Co.). He attended Lincoln School.

He was married on October 9 1917 to Christine Hauser. He farmed all his life in the Town of York retiring in 1954, then moved to Loyal in 1955.

Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary October 9, 1972.

John Schmidt was a World War I veteran, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Holy Name Society.

In addition to his wife, Christine, he is survived by eights sons, Joseph, Neillsville, Paul, Pearson, Wis., Henry, Loyal, Robert, Milton Junction, Wis., George, Janesville, Wis., Bernard, Loyal, Anthony, Milton Junction, Wis., and Verlyn, Neillsville; two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Sally) Becker, Neillsville, and Mrs. Edward (Florence) Rueth, Loyal; 71 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Allie, Loyal, Andrew, Loyal, Edward, Loyal, and George, Marshfield; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Walter, Memorial Home, Neillsville, Mrs. Elsie Adler, Minneapolis, and Mr.s Ray Horn, Loyal.

He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild.
