Luber, Clara (23 DEC 1886 – 22 SEP 1973)

Mrs. August (Clara) Luber, 87, R. 1, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 2:35 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 1973, at Memorial Home, Neillsville.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 24, at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. William Humlie officiated.

The Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The former Clara Paulus was born December 23, 1886, in Bohemia. She was married on October 23, 1906, at Prairie du Chien, to August Luber, who preceded her in death on June 24, 1969. The couple had celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1956 and their 60th in 1966.

Following their marriage, they lived in Grant County for several years, then came to Clark County, where they were engaged in farming. She had resided at Memorial Home since 1969.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a member of the ALCW, and also the Royal Neighbors.

She is survived by three sons, Virgil, Eau Claire, Ford, Rice Lake, and Allen, Loyal; one brother, Edward Paulus, Arizona; three sisters, Mrs. Oscar (Francis) Carl, Prairie du Chien, Mr.s Mary Jelinek, Milwaukee, and Miss Sophie Paulus, Milwaukee; nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, three brothers, and two sisters.

Pallbearers were Frank Rakovec, Arthur Olson, Earl Zabel, Garth Luchterhand, Alvin Fravert, and Rueben Litka.

Mrs. John Olson was organist.
