Morgal, Amy A. (5 MAR 1917 – 02 MAY 2018)
Amy A. Morgal, 101, Willard, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at
Neillsville Care & Rehab. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday,
May 9, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Rev. Steve Brice officiated
and burial followed in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger, Mike,
Taylor, Jordan and Ryan Ehlers, and Erika Burns.
Amy A. Morgal was born on March 5, 1917, near Tioga, rural Willard, to Frank Sr.
and Margaret (nee Plutt) Morgal. She was raised on the family farm and received
her education at Blackberry School. When Amy was a young woman, she moved to
Chicago and worked as a waitress during the winter, with her sisters Emily and
Margaret. She would return to Willard in the spring to help her brother on the
farm, and then return to Chicago in the winters to waitress. Amy later moved
back home to farm and take care of her elderly parents. In 1978, they retired,
sold the farm, and built a house next to the farm. She resided there until
entering Care & Rehab in July 2012. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic
Church, and loved to garden, make wine and bake potica.
Amy is survived by two nephews: Alvin “Hap” Ehlers of Neillsville and Bill
(Linda) Ehlers of Greenwood; great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Mary Ehlers, Emily
Morgal and Margaret Morgal; one brother: Frank Morgal Jr.; and one niece: Amy
(Stanley) Olson.
