Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Becker of Route 2, Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), announce the engagement of their daughter, Cathy, to Bruce Schwieso, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Schwieso, Route 2, Loyal.

Cathy is a 1971 graduate of Colby High School and is currently employed at the Senior High School in Marshfield.

Bruce is a 1968 graduate of Loyal High School. A veteran of the United States Air Force, Bruce is employed by Central State Supply of Marshfield.

The wedding date is set for December 29, 1973.

Miss Cathy Ann Becker became the bride of Bruce Schwieso with an exchange of wedding vows Saturday, December 29, 1973, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, with Father Roman Kaiser of the U.S. Air Force Academy presiding at the 1 p.m. ceremony.

Mrs. Alois Gabriel provided organ music and accompanied soloist, Alan Becker, who sang "One Hand, One Heart," "Ave Maria" and "Today."

The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in a Victorian style wedding gown of chapel ivory brocade, featuring an empire waist and a chapel length train. A Juliet cap held her fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of red roses, gold mums and baby's breath.

Attending the bride were Miss Debby Firnstahl of Wausau, maid of honor, and Miss Geri Becker, Colby, Miss Charmie Schwieso, Loyal, and Mrs. Sharon Schwieso, Marshfield.

Jack Schwieso served as best man, Mike Spuhler, Loyal, Alan Becker, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado, and Jim Schwieso, Marshfield, serving as groomsmen. Ushering duties were performed by Gary Donnermeyer, Kaukauna, and Brian Schwieso, Loyal.

The bride's attendants wore gold Victorian style knit dresses and carried white muffs with red roses attached. The groom's attendants wore black tuxedos with gold shirts.

The reception, dinner and dance were dance were held at Dorchester Memorial Hall.

A wedding trip to northern Wisconsin was planned and the newlyweds are now making their home at Marshfield, where the groom is employed at Central State Supply, and the bride is employed at Marshfield Senior High School.
