Zimmerman, Reuben (23 FEB 1927 – 7 OCT 1973)

Rueben Zimmerman, 46, 215 S. West Street, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died Sunday afternoon, October 7, 1973, at the Marshfield Convalescent Home of a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 1973, at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. William Humlie officiating. Burial took place in the Loyal Cemetery.

The Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Rueben Zimmerman was born February 23, 1927 in the Town of Berlin, Marathon County, Wis., and received his education in the Loyal area schools, graduating from the Loyal High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy from December 12, 1944, until June 26, 1946. After his discharge he was employed in Milwaukee.

He was married on October 16, 1948 to the former Lois Schultz at Trinity Lutheran Church. In November 1948 he began his employment with the O.W. Trindal Co. of Loyal, and worked there until his illness. While there he was a truck driver, and for the past ten years was a salesman.

He was a former commander of the Loyal American Legion Post. Through the Legion, he served as councilman for the Chippewa Valley Cub and Boy Scouts for nearly twenty years.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal.

He is survived by his wife Lois; three sons, David, Rockford, Ill.; Ricky, University of Wisconsin, La Crosse; and Tim, at home; his mother, Mrs. Laura Zimmerman, Loyal, and two brothers, Franklin Zimmerman, Loyal, and Lloyd Zimmerman, Neillsville.

He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers.
