Daly, Brenda D. (19 AUG 1967 - 27 APR 2018)
Brenda D. Daly served her final cup of coffee on April 27, 2018, at age 50. She
died from severe sepsis complications.
Brenda was born in Milwaukee on Aug. 19, 1967. She attended La Follette High
School in Madison and eventually moved to Abbotsford.
She is survived by her life partner, Roger Weideman; son, Collin (Kayla) Daly;
grandson, Jensen; and siblings, Roy (Pam) Hinz, Donald (Desiree) Hinz, Connie
(Brett) Warden, Judy (Dwayne) Cooke, Sharon Hinz, Steven (Amy) Hinz and Pamela
(Leon) Holpin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Shirley Hinz.
Brenda had a passion, she lived to waitress and waitressed to live! She enjoyed
the service aspect, but even more she loved to see her customers smile. She
would call them by name, joke and laugh, and occasionally tossed in an insult. A
customer once commented, “Brenda is the Speedy Gonzales of waitresses.” It’s
true. She could top off four coffee cups at one table without breaking stride.
Many customers became friends because she truly cared for them. She knew their
families, friends and how they liked their eggs cooked. In the Abbotsford area,
she worked at Medo-Farms (where she met Roger), Amber’s Café and Abby Café.
While in Madison, she waitressed at several restaurants, including the Original
Pancake House.
Brenda liked to cook, sit in the sun and hand out candy. She had a special gift
of caring for the elderly and disabled. She provided loving care to her dad,
Bob, in his final years, and the family will forever be grateful. Brenda
especially enjoyed cooking Thanksgiving dinner, taking the grandkids swimming,
and watching the Packers and Badgers play. She always went out of her way to
make people feel special by sending cards, texting, calling, complimenting and
giving warm hugs.
Brenda took great care of Roger, their house, and anyone who visited. Brenda
enjoyed road trips with Roger and buying and selling items at Roger’s resale
store.
Brenda loved her son, Collin. She also had many nieces and nephews to spoil with
candy, including Joshua, Jeremy, Adam, Ariel, Kurt, Alexis, Jason, Will, Tyler,
Skyler, Cole and Nicole along with 11 great nieces and nephews. She enjoyed
having them stay for sleepovers, and they loved the gift cards.
Brenda was a wonderful step-mother to Ben, Brian and Angie; and an energetic,
caring grandmother to Jill, Jake, Josh, Meggie, Joelle, Olivia, Abby, Jenna,
Willow, Isabella, Micaela and Davis. She had a special relationship with Roger’s
daughter, Angie, and thought of her as a daughter.
A remembrance celebration with immediate family was held in early May where
everyone toasted Brenda with coffee but no refills. If anyone would like to send
condolences and/or stories about Brenda, please send to either Roger Weideman
(206 E. Cedar St., Abbotsford, 54405) or her sister, Pam Holpin (228 S. Grant,
Belleville, 53508).
