Jagodzinski, Rosanne “Rosie” (Drewek) (18 MAY 1938 - 4 MAY 2018)
Rosanne “Rosie” Jagodzinski, 79, passed away peacefully at Tampa General
Hospital on Friday evening May 4, 2018, in a Palliative Care Suite. Her
courageous fight with cancer has ended with loving family beside her.
Rosie was born at home on May 18, 1938, in the Township of Rietbrock. She was
the daughter of the late Frank and Victoria Drewek and was also preceded in
death by her brothers, Eugene and Robert Drewek.
On July 13, 1957, she married her high school sweetheart, her first and only
love of her life, Andrew John Jagodzinski, in Poniatowski, surrounded by over
500 relatives and friends. They enjoyed a long and happy marriage for over 60
years until Andrew’s death on Oct. 5, 2017.
Much of what has defined Rosie’s life revolves around her family, friends and
love of life. If you knew Rosie, a deck of cards where never far. She enjoyed
traveling, her beautiful gardens, birds, slot tournaments and playing cards
every chance she got. Spending time laughing with family and friends was her
favorite pasttime. Rosie lived that life up until her final end and touched many
lives with her sweet smile, kind words and thoughtful concern for everyone she
encountered and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her son, Scott (Beth) Jagodzinski; daughters, Vickie (Phil)
Barnard and Lisa (Kerry) Thomas; her amazing grandchildren and their loved ones,
Ashley (Tad), Allie (Will), Andrew, Maddie (Kyle), Jessie and Garrett. She is
also survived by five sisters-in-law, Mabel and Gloria Drewek, Dorothy Argus,
Irene Cichon and Leona Braun; along with many nephews and nieces; cousins and
countless friends.
A special memorial including a Mass, cemetery burial and a celebration of
Rosie’s life at her home is being arranged for a later date close to her wedding
anniversary in July and will be announced publicly when plans are finalized.
Thank you in advance for your understanding.
Please send cards to 821 Pine Street, Athens, WI 54411 and flowers will be
appreciated at the time of the memorial.
