Kunze, Joanne V. (Weideman) (14 OCT 1937 - 7 MAY 2018)

Joanne V. Kunze, age 80, of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Dycora Transitional Health in Abbotsford. As per Joanne’s wishes a private service will be held.

The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with arrangements.

Joanne was born in the town of Holton on Oct. 14, 1937, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Melvin) Weideman. Joanne was united in marriage on June 17, 1961, to Gilbert “Gib” Kunze. She was a cook for the Abbotsford Elementary School for many years.

Joanne was a faithful member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford, and taught CCD for 34 years. Joanne enjoyed riding her bike, tending to her vegetable garden, and canning the fruits of her labor.

Joanne is survived by her four children, Dianne (Michael) Magnuson of Oshkosh, Mike Kunze (Tina) of Oshkosh, Patty (Scott) Rueden of Abbotsford and Mark Kunze of Curtiss; nine grandchildren, Chad (Kirstin), Nick (Rachel), David (Rachael), Andy, Haley, Kelsey, Hudson, Tanner and Lexi; and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Hazel (Louis) Bruss of Menasha; sister-in-law, Verjean Kunze of Abbotsford; and brother-in-law, Bernard (Beverly) Kunze of Abbotsford.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Gib.
